Phil Steans

Phil started singing in his late 40s, when he met his wife Barbara. Known for his friendly relaxed style on stage, he has featured at many country music events around NZ and a highlight for him was when he won the 60 plus Gospel section at the NZ Gold Guitar Awards with a song written by Joy Adams called "Take My Heart". To date, Phil has released 4 albums and enjoys supporting NZ songwriters. 
Nine years ago Phil lost the ability to sing after his vocal chord was damaged during a life saving heart operation.
After a lot of perseverance, he's back singing again and especially gets a lot of pleasure entertaining around rest homes & country music clubs.
